Lonesome Housewife is not about a lonesome housewife. (Of course not.) Johnny Gonad (see Bananas) risks his job on a newspaper to get a piece of Cynthia, gets fired, then goes looking for a new job. But Johnny Gonad can't remember how to knot a tie, and his brother Claude Gonad has a stiffer prick. Say what?If none of this makes any sense to you, don't worry. It didn't make any sense to the Deviate either. The moronic dialogue and idiotic narration dubbed in over this series of hardcore loops strung together on a wing and a prayer are not the attraction here.It's the gals - of course - and each one is fresher and blonder than the next. The Deviate has looked all his life for one of these girls. Did they ever really exist? And did they really do the nasty so nicely?

From After Hours Cinema's Sex On 42nd Street boxed set (which also includes Pen Pals and Certified Mail.)LOVE-IN MAID must be just about the grimiest grindhouse gem ever committed to film. Unsettling but perennially busy (in 1970's New York porn) lead actor Bobby Astyr carries this film as one-half of a pair of would-be studs who advertise for a maid and get Cindy West, who turns out to be a sex machine. Mary Stuart (with a really horrific hairdo) pops up as a randy census taker, and everyone has sex in those ugly, grimy-looking close-ups that make you feel like you're watching the Surgery Channel.
