This is a rather strange, yet funny movie. It is a Jewish Comedy set in New York, and also a Fantasy and Sex movie.
Confused yet?
The movie centers around Melvin, a Nebbish who runs a small store from the house he shares with his mother. And his single pleasure in life seems to be going to porn theatres in Times Square {which he watches with silly Groucho Marx type glasses so nobody recognizes him}.
The one day he finds a bottle, and when he rubs the inside of the jar, a genie appears. He is given 5 wishes, and then proceeds to use them to wish himself to appear as several different porn stars, each enacting a different fantasy.
This movie is unique, in that the main character himself never has sex, but does it in the image of several different performers. Harry Reems, Levi Richards, and Marc Stevens.

Richard an attractive, virile young man living in a lush apartment, has a rendezvous with Janet. Janet is in the midst of a divorce proceeding involving a large settlement. Richard's next playmate is Sylvia whose divorce settlement will exceed half a million. Sylvia is a most willing partner until the flashbulbs start popping. Richard then has a surprise visit from David, Janet's ex-husband. Now that he is divorced he would like to swing along with Richard. Richard then arranges a foursome with Christine and Violet, both, of course, in the middle of divorce suits. Manna is very upset with this new arrangement and forces Richard to terminate it. Manna then sends Vivian to Richard. Vivian is lecherous and tough and married to a rich homosexual. Richard says it will be impossible for him to make it with a man but Vivian, aware of his illegal activities, threatens him with jail if he does not comply. He is also compelled to make love to Vivian - and the next night her husband Sidney. However, all of his "victims" catch on and find each other. One night they appear at Richard's apartment. This was the Grand Prize Winner at the Amsterdam Adult Film Festival in 1971. But don't hold that against it. It's actually a tightly-paced, sexy chunk of hardcore filmmaking. It's well-made (for a change) and the tantalizing cast of moist starlets provide some erotic fireworks.
Richard has got it made. He's an ultra-cool sweet-talker who preys on women divorcing their husbands. Men actually pay him to seduce their wives. He lures them into his web, smooth-talks them into chewing on his baloney, then hires a photographer to snap incriminating photos of them cheating on their husbands. Goodbye alimony!
Richard's cohort in slime is a sleazebag lawyer (John Dunn, who was in Ego Trip). He introduces the womanizer to a six-pack of sexed-up sirens (including RAINBOW ROBBINS, star of Motel For Lovers) leading to some X-cellent porn-o-rama.
But lover boy gets a taste of his own medicine when a belligerent she-devil blackmails him into doing her homo hubby. He objects: "I don't do fags!" She replies, "For the money I'm offering most guys would make it with a kangaroo."
It all ends with the "cocky" bastard getting his cummuppance. All the women he dicked around descend on him like vampires. They don't want money, they want "inches!" Richard is forced to bang the six gals. "One every day of the week." Well, at least I've got Sunday off," he reasons. Nope. In walks the flaming fruitcake who blows him a kiss.

The VCA dvd of Alexandra is presented full screen and the picture is as clear as can be expected for a film 20 years old. The audio is in excellent shape and comes through clear at all times and I didn't notice any hard to understand dialogue.
Now on to the plot of the movie. This movie has enough plot to keep a soap opera going for 6 months, but don't let that discourage you my fellow porn viewers. I found the story well developed and if you follow it closely it is quite interesting and it will hold your attention. You do have to pay attention though to know what is happening. This is not a film you can fast forward through and know what is happening. The plot involves 3 couples of whom the men of the 3 couples all have one thing in common they have all dated Alexandra. Alexandra remains a mystery throughout the movie. Alexandra has something in store for these 3 couples though, she wants the guys, girlfriends to think that she is about to tell their boyfriends about their secret sexual shenanigans. This in reality is not what she is planning though. Ok hope you can follow this plot. The real surprise is saved for a party that Alexandra invites all the couples to at the end of the movie.
