New York City is engulfed in a corruption scandal involving high ranking police officers. Three were arrested there on Monday accused of having accepted lavish gifts in exchange for a wide range of services These include getting rid of tickets providing personal police escorts and even pushing through gun license applications As payment the officers received gifts worth over 100 thousand dollars including extravagant meals free flights expensive hotel rooms Brooklyn Nets tickets and even prostitutesAnd it looks like sometimes rich people CAN go to jail... at least in Serbia On Monday 70-year-old billionaire Miroslav Miskovic was sentenced to five years in jail for tax evasion. Miskovic one of the richest men in the world had been found guilty of helping his son evade over 3 million dollars in taxes The charge stemmed from an anti-corruption push in Serbia that is considered vital to their goal of joining the European Union.
