EA) With ten states up for grabs on Super Tuesday, Mitt Romney got JUST enough support to maintain his status as the Republican frontrunner. Romney took his home state of Massachusetts, Virginia, Alaska, Vermont, Idaho, and most importantly, edged Rick Santorum in the key swing state of Ohio. Romney can take comfort in the fact that no GOP candidate has ever won the nomination without winning Ohio. However his narrow win there over Santorum points to a concerning lack of support from the conservative base.For his part, Santorum took the states of Tennessee, North Dakota, and Oklahoma. He_s still Romney_s top challenger, but he_s not alone Newt Gingrich pulled out a desperate win in his home state of Georgia to keep his run alive. Victoria Sinclair will have a complete run down of Tuesday night_s results later in our election segment, Power Play. In other news, authorities have scored a MAJOR victory in the fight against online hacker groups, arresting some of the highest-ranking members of the infamous _Anonymous_ and _LulzSec_ collectives. And it turns out they had a little help from a source on the INSIDE. Rachel Simmons has been tracking this story and joins us now with the details. Rachel?RS) Eila five members of the notorious hacking groups were arrested in the US, UK, and Ireland on Tuesday. The big break actually came thanks to help from one of the world_s top-ranking hackers. 28-year old Hector Xavier Monsegur (HEK-tor ZAY-vyur MON-she-goor) was secretly arrested last summer in New York City and has been working with the FBI ever since. He_s referred to in court papers as the ringleader of LulzSec, and was a rockstar in the hacktivist community, working under the alias _Sabu_. The five men arrested - four LulzSec members and one from Anonymous - are facing charges in New York. They_re suspected of causing billions in damages to major banks and corporations. The FBI calls the arrests a devastating blow to the groups.SOmeone else on the wrong side of the law was once one of the wealthiest men in the US. But oh how far he_s fallen. On Tuesday Texas tycoon Allen Stanford was convicted on 7 billion dollars worth of fraud charges. Stanford was found guilty on 13 of the 14 charges he faced, which also included conspiracy, and wire and mail fraud. Using what prosecutors called an old-fashioned Ponzi scheme, Stanford spent billions of investors_ hard-earned dollars over the last 20 years to bankroll his lavish jet-setting lifestyle, as well as a number of failed business ventures. A civil suit is underway to try and recover hundreds of millions from Stanford_s global bank accounts EIla.EA) And so if Stanford_s been convicted, when can we expect sentencing?RS) The judge is expected to schedule that once the civil suit_s taken care of. We should know more in the next few days. EA) How much prison time are we potentially talking about here?RS) That really depends on the judge. For the most serious charges he_s looking at up to 20 years, but if the judge makes him serve his sentences consecutively, he may never see the light of day again.
