Among other things, the 39-page document criticizes the State Department for having a security plan that was quote, grossly inadequate to deal with the attack that took place. With more, here_s Katherine Curtis. Marina, the review board says security lapses at the embassy in Libya stemmed from a number of critical issues. These include a lack of resources, management deficiencies, as well as insufficient transparency and responsiveness at the senior level. Most damning may be the revelation that requests for additional staff at the consulate had been repeatedly denied. Despite the condemnation, panel members have concluded no government employee skirted responsibilities or engaged in any form of professional misconduct. Because of this, disciplinary actions are unlikely. Outgoing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton appears to have taken the report very seriously Marina, pledging to ensure all 24 recommendations are implemented right away. Marina, several days after the shootings in Newtown Connecticut, the National Rifle Association has finally broken its silence. In addition to saying it_s shocked, saddened, and heartbroken by the tragedy, the group issued a statement offering, quote, meaningful contributions to help make sure this never happens again. A news conference is slated for Friday. House Democrats say they_re already pushing for legislation that would ban the manufacturing of high-capacity magazines. The proposed law would make it illegal to transfer, import, or possess magazines containing more than ten rounds of ammunition. According to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, there should already be enough votes to take the bill directly to the Senate. And Instagram has done a major about-face on its newly-released terms of service. This comes a mere day after users cried foul over a clause that could potentially allow the company to sell their personal photos to advertisers. A rep for the popular site says the terms will now be re-written, to ensure all images remain the sole property of members who upload them. And that_s your first look at the news.
