In other news today, US President Barack Obama had a rather unlikely guest over for lunch at the White House on Thursday: Republican election rival Mitt Romney. Kat Curtis has her eye on Washington and joins us now with the latest. WHat_s going on Kat? Vic, Romney_s lunch with Obama was the first time the two had met face-to-face since the run-up to the November 6th election. The meeting was held in a private dining room at the White House, which was closed to the media. Sources say the biggest conversation topic was an issue on which Obama and Romney have opposing views, to say the least: the economy. And Vic, with the fiscal cliff fast approaching, the two men discussed how to best move the country forward. I_m sure it was a much more pleasant conversation than any of their presidential debates, Kat. Let_s hope so. Romney had been avoiding the public spotlight since the election results came in. Eila Adams has more details for us, Eila?Vic, it turns out that for the first time in recent memory n and likely, most people_s lifetime New York City went an entire DAY without a single, solitary violent crime being reported to police In all 5 boroughs, there wasn_t a single reported incident of a shooting, stabbing, or assault for a period of 36 hours n Sunday night through Tuesday morning. Things have been downright utopian in the Big Apple n compared to other years. They_re on track to have the lowest number of murders since 1960 On the other hand, crime overall IS up n due largely to a 9-percent increase in grand larceny over last year.So not a SINGLE stabbing, or shooting Eila NOTHING?
