The President says the operation against Islamic State forces will be an international coalition supporting Iraqi and Kurdish ground troops and will be similar to counterterrorism campaigns of the past few years. Obama has pledged to hunt down militants and their assets, wherever they may be. In that same interview on Meet The press, President Obama also stated that the US needs to do more in the fight against Ebola. He acknowledged that the deadly outbreak in West Africa could eventually become a threat to Americans. He said the US and other world powers need to send equipment, health supplies, and medical professionals to the region to keep the virus from spreading. Last week, the United Nations estimated that 600 million dollars was needed in the region to help prevent further spread of the disease.It was a star-studded affair in New York_s Upper East Side, Kat, as hundreds of mourners gathered to say their final goodbyes to Rivers. She passed away last week at the age of 81 due to complications during surgery. Whoopi Goldberg, Diane Sawyer, Hugh Jackman, and Howard Stern were among the big names attending the funeral. Finally today, Nicaraguan officials say a mysterious late-night blast in the country_s capital was likely caused by a meteorite. At around 11pm local time on Saturday night, a loud bang rocked the city of Managua, leaving behind a forty foot-wide crater. Scientists have not yet found any traces of a meteorite, but say seismic sensors registered activity at the time of the event. Thankfully, the blast occurred in an area where it posed no danger to locals.
