State troopers pulled over a tractor-trailer that was driving on the shoulder of an interstate. They searched the truck and discovered a false compartment containing the drug in the empty trailer. A major contributor to America_s opioid crisis, the DEA says fentanyl is up to FIFTY times more potent than heroin Of course, opioids have been turning up in all kinds of strange places lately... including shellfish Researchers have discovered that bay mussels in Washington_s Puget Sound are testing positive for oxycodone As the scientists have explained, mussels_ body tissues are a good reflection of water quality over the previous few months. It_s believed the shellfish can_t metabolize the drug... but if they can, that_s probably some crazy MUSSEL memory And now, to a more common drug: Spam The Department of Agriculture is recalling over 228 THOUSAND pounds of Spam and another meat from a company called Hormel Foods. This follows complaints about metal objects being found the cans, resulting in cuts to the mouth. Because he claims that Brit Brit currently earns 34 million a year and that the standard of living for their children should be a bit more balanced when they_re with him. Here_s hoping it passes quickly, and in the meantime... snowball fights at the Vatican Bad news for _Pharma Bro_ Martin Shkreli tends to be good news for everyone else, so here_s some good news: a judge has ruled Shkreli should be held responsible for OVER TEN MILLION DOLLARS in investor losses He_s already been convicted of securities fraud, but his lawyers were arguing that he didn_t cause losses because his investors eventually came out ahead. With that argument rejected, under federal guidelines, he could be facing a prison sentence of up to a decade or longer Sentencing is scheduled for March 9th. And if you_ve got a Citigroup credit card, you could have some money coming your way Citigroup announced recently that it had failed to reduce the interest rate on nearly TWO MILLION credit card accounts dating back to 2011. Basically, what happened was some people whose rates went up as a penalty failed to have their rates reduced again when they went back to paying on time.
