Isabella when the 2.5 million soccer fans arrive in Paris and other French cities this week and think it smells bad it won_t be because of the cheese The city_s garbage collectors have gone on strike leaving growing piles of trash to collect all over the French capital. It_s been a rough few months for the country. First there were the gas shortages then there were the rail strikes and then came the historic floods that caused disaster in 782 towns and villages nationwide. In other words it sounds like the home team could really use a win Euro 2016 starts on Friday with France taking on Romania. M&M_s iconic logo has been BANNED in Sweden. A court there has just ruled that from now on the chocolate maker will have to use upper-case M_s. The reason? The logo is supposedly too similar to the one already in use by Swedish chocolate covered peanut brand Marabou. M&M_s owned by parent company Mars weren_t sold in Sweden until 2009. Marabou which is owned by Kraft has been available there since the 1960s. And a Canadian university has delivered a payout in what_s becoming a concerning new trend. The University of Calgary agreed to pay about 20-thousand dollars worth of bitcoins to hackers who had targeted the school_s servers with an attack known as ransomware. The hack affected more than 100 computers and caused emails and other crucial files to be turned to gibberish. The University of Calgary isn_t the first institution to pay up to get its data back. In February the Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center paid 17-thousand dollars to have its system restored. Isabella security experts warn that the ransom payments will only encourage more attacks. If you ask me it_s just more proof that the nerds shall inherit the Earth Thanks Natasha. The reason: an outside party was able to access the required information independently. Law enforcement officials wanted the tech giant to unlock the phone to find out if the gunman had been working with anyone else. Apple has repeatedly refused to do so on the grounds that it would set a dangerous precedent. All_s well that ends well I guess. A major undercover operation has resulted in the arrests of more than a THOUSAND suspected gang members across the US As part of Project Shadowfire Immigration officials spent the past 5 weeks carrying out a series of busts across the country. Charges filed so far include allegations of drug and sex trafficking human smuggling and murder. And Fidel Castro has a message for President Obama after his recent historic visit he said and I quote we don_t need your help end quote. The former Cuban leader spoke out in an editorial published across state-run media on Monday. He accused the US president of using honey-coated words to fool Cubans and reminded readers of the many US attempts to overthrow the country_s communist government. A White House spokesperson said that Castro_s comments reflected the significant impact of Mr. Obama_s visit. We_ll be right back.

Now let_s check in with Katherine Curtis she_s in the naked newsroom with details on another emissions SCANDAL deal between Volkswagen and the US government. That_s right Eila the German automaker has reached yet ANOTHER agreement with US authorities over its cheating scandal. The company will pay an additional one BILLION dollars to compensate VW owners who needed to bring their cars in for repairs. The payment follows a June settlement that saw VW shell out 15 billion to cover 475-thousand cars affected by the emissions scandal. In September 2015 Volkswagen admitted to installing software to cheat emission tests. Diesel models made between 2009 and 2016 emitted up to 40 TIMES the legally allowable limit The UK is considering a strict set of new rules for drone owners. Under the proposal anyone who buys a drone in the future would need to have it registered AND pass a safety test. The new laws would also bring tougher penalties for anyone who flies a drone into a no-fly zone. The drone industry is projected to be worth BILLIONS by 2025 but critics think these regulations could hinder its growth. They say it will only hurt hobbyists and won_t do anything to stop criminals or terrorists from using drones illegally. And a YouTube star is going viral for all the wrong reasons Adam Saleh claims he was kicked off a Delta flight from London to New York because he was speaking Arabic. Naturally he filmed the entire incident to share with his millions of followers. Saleh claims he was talking to his mom on the phone in Arabic when a female passenger alerted flight attendants. While some are accusing Delta of racism others aren_t so convinced. Saleh is a renowned prankster whose videos have been debunked in the past. Delta says Saleh and his friends were booted from the flight for being disruptive and shouting in the cabin. Don_t go away.

Carli I understand you_ve got more news for us about the devastating fire in Fort McMurray Alberta.I do and sadly it looks like we could be talking about it for awhile because there_s no end in sight. My heart goes out to those people. The footage from the area is just shocking. I_ve never seen anything like it. Well the GOOD news is that the evacuation efforts have gone really smoothly all things considered. But the fire itself... that_s a different story. Barring a major rainfall the wildfire which has consumed Fort McMurray is anticipated to last for MONTHS. It_s already consumed almost 5 hundred thousand acres and Canadian authorities think it might DOUBLE in size. The entire city of Fort McMurray about 80 thousand people were evacuated last week. It_s estimated that close to 18 hundred structures in the city have been destroyed with entire neighborhoods burned to the ground. Paris_s Champs-Elysees is one of the most iconic streets in the world but it looked VERY different this past Sunday. That_s because cars were BANNED The pedestrian-only day was designed by Paris_s mayor as a way to reduce air pollution. Throngs of people took to the street and the event was considered a huge success. Cars will be banned on the first Sunday of every month. And E-cigarettes will soon have to start playing by the same rules as regular cigarettes. The FDA_s jurisdiction now applies to ALL tobacco products which means e-cigarettes will soon be subject to age restrictions and health warnings on packaging. There has been particular concern about vaping among teens with e-cigarette use rising rapidly among the age group. From the newsroom I_m Carli Bei.

And nobody thought he could beat Hillary Clinton but the numbers say otherwise.I guess that means a lot of Americans will be moving to Canada. Unless WE decide to build a wall...Only time will tell but right now The Donald has to feel VERY good about his shot at the Oval Office. A new national poll from Fox News shows that Donald Trump has pulled ahead of Hillary Clinton. The numbers show Trump would win the general election by a 45 to 42 percent margin. Their a little surprising considering Trump is far behind Clinton when it comes to support from African American and female voters. However he makes up for the margin thanks to strong support from men particularly white men. That said it doesn_t sound like Americans are thrilled with either candidate. Two-thirds think Clinton is dishonest and more than half think Trump lacks strong moral values. US lawmakers are bringing the hammer down on Chinese steel imports. The Commerce Department has imposed import taxes of up to 522-percent on steel made in the Asian country. China which is by far the world_s largest steel producer has been accused of dumping low-quality exports on other countries. A lack of demand has caused lowered prices and job losses in places like the US. The new tariff could increase tensions between China and the US and could lead to retaliatory taxes being introduced by Beijing. And Homeland Security has a message for US airlines complaining about lengthy waits at airport security: get rid of your baggage fees Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson says that eliminating the fees will encourage travelers to check their bags which will in turn mean less carry-on luggage to screen for TSA handlers. The airlines have basically responded by saying thanks but NO thanks They_re calling for the TSA to staff more workers at the country_s most heavily-trafficked airports. American Airlines has even hired its own contractors to help security agents speed things along. The issue_s only expected to get worse during the busy summer travel season. In other news there_s MORE legal trouble for UBER The ride sharing service has agreed to pay out 100 MILLION dollars to settle claims about the employment status of its drivers Uber classifies drivers as independent contractors giving them far less rights and entitlements under the law. The filings in California and Massachusetts sought to have them recognized at EMPLOYEES instead. Despite the settlement the battle is FAR from over. Drivers in California recently announced a partnership with the Teamsters Union to fight for better wages and working conditions. And is a MAJOR GOP supporter about to switch sides in the presidential election? Billionaire and conservative powerhouse Charles Koch says that he is considering backing HILLARY CLINTON for president. Why? Because as he says she might do a better job than the current republican candidates. In an interview with ABC news Koch called Republican front runners Donald Trump and Ted Cruz terrible role models and even compared Trump_s plans to register Muslims to something out of Nazi-era Germany. Pretty serious comments from such an INFLUENTIAL Republican Kat. Just goes to show you what kind of disarray the republicans are finding themselves in right now Thanks Elise. Needless to say she was charged. If a cardboard plate doesnt get a cops attention THIS will Police in Roselle Illinois pulled over a drunk driver whod failed to notice the FIFTEEN FOOT TREE stuck in the grill of his car The incident was so outrageous that when police initially filed the report some people refused to believe it was true.
