In the near future, the U.S. has become overpopulated due to higher birth rates in upper-class communities. Therefore the lower class has become the and an object of discussion. The government comes up with a plan called Downsizing in which a citizen takes part in a permanent procedure in which the individual is permanently shrunk and their family receives compensation for undergoing the procedure. Naturally, a group of lower-class people is chosen to take part in the first trial, but they're unaware that once they're shrunk the government has no intention of keeping them around. So, they are placed in labs where they will be dealt with by giantess on live tv.
