You may recall last year, the US Air Force launched the unmanned X-37B spacecraft into orbit. And now, the highly-classified mission is finally coming to an end. What_s going on ladies? 1. PP) Eila, after circling the Earth for the past year, the vessel_s finally ready to come back to earth. It was originally supposed to arrive back, this past March, but a senior project official said extra time was needed. Needed for WHAT, is still anyone_s guess. EVERYTHING about this mission has been kept under wraps. LAURA) The X-37B is a 29-foot solar-powered aircraft similar in design to the now decommissioned Space Shuttles. And although the military is tight lipped on just about every aspect of its mission, many analysts believe its being used for surveillance purposes. Reason being, independent data has shown multiple flyovers of Afghanistan, North Korea, Iran, Iraq and Pakistan. 2. PP) Ah, but large aircrafts aren_t just being used to allegedly spy on foreign nations. Case in point, the story of Oregon native Bruce Campbell. No, not the _Evil Dead_ guy - a DIFFERENT Bruce Campbell. Although instead of a creepy cabin in the woods, this eccentric fellow_s now living in a 727 passenger jet, in the woods. Long story short, he got a hold of the plane a while back and decided to turn it into his permanent residence. LAURA) Campbell_s put a lot of time and money into the project, ripping out chairs and even installing plumbing, including a functioning shower. And naturally, the wings are being converted into patio space. So what_s it like to live in an abandoned airplane full time? According to Bruce, it_s absolutely exhilarating. 3. PP) To each their own We_ll wrap up this first look at the news with an incredible record breaking feat. A Guinness world record in fact. Tom Sietas SEE-tiss is a 35-year-old German free-diver who just set a new record for holding his breath underwater. And this is the incredible part. He did it for 22 minutes and 22 seconds. LAURA) So the question on everyone_s mind is HOW could he hold his breath for so long. For starters, YEARS of practice. It also doesn_t hurt that he_s got a freakishly large lung capacity, one that_s a full 20% bigger than the average person. And naturally, he was strapped up to a heart monitor, with a lifeguard on hand in case the whole stunt went south. And there you have it. PP) That_s pretty amazing, i mean I can barely hold my breath for a minute. LAURA) Yeah well, that beats me by about 30 seconds PP) Guess Tom doesn_t have to worry about US, does he Eila. It_s the second blackout in as many days that_s affected hundreds of millions of people. Thanks Vic, as we reported on Monday Laura, 350 MILLION people were affected by the FIRST power outageAnd by all accounts this SECOND one affected almost DOUBLE that amount. As you can imagine, power companies are scrambling to get things back to normal.Here_s the story.As much as half of the country of 1-point-2 billion people was without electricity on Tuesday afternoon. The blackout affected people living in the eastern and northeast regions of India. Three power grids have now collapsed in what_s being called one of biggest blackouts in history. Fortunately, the 620 million people affected by the blackout are used to power outages, and key buildings like hospitals and airports are equipped with backup generators. Still, the consecutive blackouts are considered an embarrassing incident for a nation looking to establish itself on the international scene. In other news, police in Sydney, Australia are celebrating a record drug bust of heroin and methamphetamine. They found 525 million dollars worth of the illegal drugs stashed in terracotta pots from Thailand. The 675 pounds of meth was the largest seizure of the drug in Aussie history. The 555 pounds worth of heroin was the nation_s third-largest haul.The drugs were hidden in 32-hundred terracotta pots, and were found in Sydney_s Port Botany. Seven people - including 4 Hong Kong nationals - have been arrested. The seizures and arrests come on the heels of a year-long investigation with help from US authorities.We_ll wrap up this first look at your Naked News with some GOOD news for Haiti. Since 1994, United Nations peacekeepers have served to protect the island nation but that could soon change. Brazil and Ecuador have agreed to help Haiti build an army of its own. Haitian President Michel Martelly says the nation would rather be protected by an army of its own people. Brazil has committed to helping Haiti with troop training and engineering support, and will be sending a team to Haiti within the next few weeks to assess the situation there. US and UN officials are less happy with the news. They fear the army_s development could hinder training and equipment supplies for a new civilian police force. The FBI is still analyzing the explosive, which was meant to be concealed in the bomberis underwear. They say itis an upgrade from the one that was discovered in a 2009 bombing attempt on a flight to Detroit.Meanwhile in Greece, some SERIOUS talks are taking place over their contentious elections and bailout agreement. Natasha Olenski has been following the story and has the latest for us right now. What can you tell us Nat?NO) Peyton, in the wake of Greeceis inconclusive parliamentary election over the weekend, the countryis leading ANTI-bailout politician is continuing to try and form a coalition. Alexis Tsipras (ah-LEHK-sees SEEP-rahs), the leader of the Syriza (SIH-reez-ah) bloc, will be meeting with 2 PRO-bailout parties to see if he can come to an agreement. If they canit by end of day Thursday, the country will have to go to the polls again within weeks. Tsipras has been a vocal opponent of the bailout deal with the EU and IMF, calling the terms ìbarbarici.A little closer to home in North Carolina Peyton, a controversial constitutional amendment has passed that effectively BANS same-sex marriage and civil unions Gay marriage was already illegal in the state, but this amendment n known as ìamendment onei n cements the ruling firmly in the state_s constitution. Roughly 61 percent of the voters cast ballots in favor of the ban. Itis a blow to same-sex couples, as it voids all other forms of civil unions and domestic partnerships. This vote has re-ignited debate over the issue, which is sure to be discussed at length in an election year. Interestingly enough Peyton, Vice President Joe Biden recently made comments in FAVOR of gay marriage. PP) You mentioned Biden, but not President Obama. Has he weighed in yet?NO) Not really. Erica Stevens has joined Victoria Sinclair in the newsroom today and they_re starting off with the latest from the trial in Georgia that has four soldiers accused of plotting to overthrow the American government. Here they are. Thank you Laura. Private first class Michael Burnett admitted to the court that he was part of an anarchist group and militia, which was plotting a number of domestic terror attacks. They called their group FEAR - Forever Enduring Always Ready - and took it upon themselves to unseat the government and return it to the people.They began stockpiling guns and explosives and when one of the members tried to leave the group, they wound up killing him and his teenaged girlfriend. All four of the accused are active in the US Army. The number of total militia members remains unknown. Elsewhere in the US, low-lying areas of New Orleans have been evacuated as Tropical Storm Isaac threatens to become a full-blown hurricane. Isaac could make landfall in Louisiana almost exactly 7 years to the day after Hurricane Katrina. With wind speeds of 70 miles per hour, Isaac is just 4 miles per hour short of reaching hurricane status. If Isaac lands in Louisiana, it will be a tough test for the region_s upgraded levees and pumps. 14 billion dollars was spent to upgrade security systems after Katrina. 6 to 18 inches of rain are expected, and the National Hurricane Center has warned citizens that all safety preparations should be done before Tuesday night. And with Isaac now charting west of Tampa Florida, it_s now full speed ahead at this week_s GOP convention. The storm forced organizers to cram 4 days worth of events into 3 days. Tuesday night_s schedule includes keynote speeches from New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and Ann Romney.The main goal of the convention will be to package GOP nominee Mitt Romney as a man who understands everyday Americans, and to frame him as the only candidate capable of fixing the US economy. But with Isaac bearing down on New Orleans, many expect a slightly subdued tone to this year_s convention. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected. Here_s hoping Isaac is no Katrina. A 23-year old woman there has begun a campaign to get foreigners to dress more conservatively under the Twitter hashtag UAEdresscode. And donit think itis just women. The campaign also targets men deemed to be wearing clothing thatis too tight fitting. The campaign wants to warn foreigners to cover up and ultimately block them from entering public spaces like shopping malls if they donit. Meanwhile just down the desert highway in Dubai, a highly-paid talent recruiter was arrested and subsequently FIRED from her 150 thousand dollar a year job after being caught having sex in the back of a cab 29-year old Brit, Rebecca Blake, says she doesnit remember a thing, but admits sheid been drinking for ten hours before hailing the cab with a male friend. The driver saw what was happening in his rearview and pulled over to tell police. Blake was then arrested and thrown in a holding cell for five days. She_s now facing charges for having sex outside of marriage and being drunk in a public place, both criminal offences in the strict islamic state. She faces up to 3 years in jail.Weill wrap up this first look at the news stateside, where a popular Boston-area coffee chain has been put under the microscope for hiring too many attractive young women Federal authorities are investigating Marylouis Coffee for employment discrimination. According to the Boston Herald, the feds have been investigating the chainis employment practices for more than a year now. The companyis owners say theyive been in business 25 years with no complaints and claim their the victims of a witch hunt. And Natasha, I understand itis a good day to be an Apple shareholder.NO) Well, to be fair, I donit think thereis ever been a BAD time to be an Apple shareholder.PP) True enough n but theyive just reported some very good financial news didn_t they. NO) That_s right peyton, it turns out that their brand has even more power with consumers than ANYONE thought. Here_s the breakdown. Welcome to the newsroom everyoneNO) The sales numbers for Apple have exceeded everybodyis highest expectations. Their fiscal second-quarter revenue rose to 39-point-2 billion dollars n much higher than the projected 36-point-8 billion. Hardware was the driving force behind the high revenue numbers. During the quarter, they sold over 5 million more iPhones than estimated, 35-point-1 million in total. They also sold nearly 12-million iPads n which was helped by the release of the new version in March. Appleis stock prices have been decreasing over the past few weeks, but this news helped them jump over 5 percent. A case of Mad Cow disease has been confirmed in a California dairy cow. American officials say the risk to the public is extremely low, since the animal never entered the human food chain, and that consumers donit need to take precautions. But the news is still having an impact overseas. At least one South Korean retailer has removed American beef from their shelves. South Korea is one of the worldis largest importers of US beef, bringing in 125-thousand tons in 2010. Officials there say theyill step up inspections, but so far have stopped short of halting the imports.The first criminal charges have been laid in the Deepwater Horizon oil spill case. Kurt Mix n a former BP drilling engineer n is accused of destroying hundreds of text messages he had sent to a superior. The texts allegedly described the high volumes of oil flowing out of the ruptured well. During the disaster, it was discovered that the numbers BP was providing to the government were drastically lower than the actual volume. If found guilty of the obstruction of justice charges, he_ll face up to 20 years in prison and a 500-thousand dollar fine. And that_s our first look at the news peyton, i_ll send it back to you.

PLUS, we_ll have THESE stories Topping our news today, firefighters in the Western US are scrambling to control or contain SCORES of wildfires that are burning out of control. According to the US Forest Service, at least 62 blazes are ripping through California, Utah, Nevada, Idaho, and Washington. One blaze in particular in Washington has claimed 60 homes in just the past few days. Another fire in Utah that was sparked by lightning has destroyed nearly 24-thousand acres of land. Rumors are spreading through the press that America_s famous Navy SEAL team SIX, may be sent in to take out one of the world_s most notorious drug kingpins Laura Conner has been following this story and joins us now with a Naked News Bulletin Vic, if the rumors are true, Navy SEAL Team Six n the same commandos who took out Osama bin Laden n may be setting their sights on Mexican drug lord. He_s been one of the world_s most wanted men since he escaped prison in 2001. Mexico_s Procesor Magazine reported that President reached out to his own military to plan a raid, but was turned down. Now he_s allegedly reached out to the US, who has made Guzman_s capture a priority.Officials in Germany have arrested 4 people on charges of supplying Iran with nuclear reactor parts. Of the people arrested, one was a German citizen and the other three were GermanIranian DUAL citizens. They_re accused of providing Iran with heavy water reactor valves in deals worth millions of dollars. The valves were funneled in through front companies n which violates the strict German trade embargos against Iran. It also breaches weapon control laws n as heavy water reactors can be used to produce weapons-grade plutonium. Vic?We should point out that, even despite this report, the sanctions against Iran appear to be working.True. They wanted their nuclear plant to begin operation next year, but that will likely be delayed thanks to both sanctions and suspected sabotage.Thanks for the updates Laura. His lawyers had asked the court to delay proceedings for 6 months. They claim the presiding judge is biased based on other trials of Serbians. They also claim that the prosecutors failed to provide their evidence in a timely manner. But their complaints fell on deaf ears.2. EA) Elsewhere in Europe, Greeks will be heading to the polls yet again. Politicians there failed to come to an agreement about forming a government. This comes nine days after the parliamentary elections split support between backers and opponents of controversial austerity measures and the 165-billion dollar economic bailout.RW) There_s no date for the new vote, but guidelines suggest it will happen sometime in mid-June. Early polls indicate that the leftist, anti-bailout Syriza (SIH-reez-ah) party will win. And although the military is tight lipped on just about every aspect of its mission, many analysts believe its being used for surveillance purposes. As you can imagine, power companies are scrambling to get things back to normal.Here_s the story.As much as half of the country of 1-point-2 billion people was without electricity on Tuesday afternoon. The blackout affected people living in the eastern and northeast regions of India. Three power grids have now collapsed in what_s being called one of biggest blackouts in history. Fortunately, the 620 million people affected by the blackout are used to power outages, and key buildings like hospitals and airports are equipped with backup generators. Still, the consecutive blackouts are considered an embarrassing incident for a nation looking to establish itself on the international scene. In other news, police in Sydney, Australia are celebrating a record drug bust of heroin and methamphetamine. They found 525 million dollars worth of the illegal drugs stashed in terracotta pots from Thailand. The 675 pounds of meth was the largest seizure of the drug in Aussie history. The 555 pounds worth of heroin was the nation_s third-largest haul.The drugs were hidden in 32-hundred terracotta pots, and were found in Sydney_s Port Botany. Seven people - including 4 Hong Kong nationals - have been arrested. The seizures and arrests come on the heels of a year-long investigation with help from US authorities.We_ll wrap up this first look at your Naked News with some GOOD news for Haiti. Since 1994, United Nations peacekeepers have served to protect the island nation but that could soon change. Brazil and Ecuador have agreed to help Haiti build an army of its own. Haitian President Michel Martelly says the nation would rather be protected by an army of its own people. Brazil has committed to helping Haiti with troop training and engineering support, and will be sending a team to Haiti within the next few weeks to assess the situation there. US and UN officials are less happy with the news. They fear the army_s development could hinder training and equipment supplies for a new civilian police force. If they canit by end of day Thursday, the country will have to go to the polls again within weeks. Tsipras has been a vocal opponent of the bailout deal with the EU and IMF, calling the terms ìbarbarici.A little closer to home in North Carolina Peyton, a controversial constitutional amendment has passed that effectively BANS same-sex marriage and civil unions Gay marriage was already illegal in the state, but this amendment n known as ìamendment onei n cements the ruling firmly in the state_s constitution. Roughly 61 percent of the voters cast ballots in favor of the ban. Itis a blow to same-sex couples, as it voids all other forms of civil unions and domestic partnerships. This vote has re-ignited debate over the issue, which is sure to be discussed at length in an election year. Here they are. Thank you Laura. Private first class Michael Burnett admitted to the court that he was part of an anarchist group and militia, which was plotting a number of domestic terror attacks. They called their group FEAR - Forever Enduring Always Ready - and took it upon themselves to unseat the government and return it to the people.They began stockpiling guns and explosives and when one of the members tried to leave the group, they wound up killing him and his teenaged girlfriend. All four of the accused are active in the US Army. The number of total militia members remains unknown. Elsewhere in the US, low-lying areas of New Orleans have been evacuated as Tropical Storm Isaac threatens to become a full-blown hurricane. Isaac could make landfall in Louisiana almost exactly 7 years to the day after Hurricane Katrina. With wind speeds of 70 miles per hour, Isaac is just 4 miles per hour short of reaching hurricane status. If Isaac lands in Louisiana, it will be a tough test for the region_s upgraded levees and pumps. 14 billion dollars was spent to upgrade security systems after Katrina. 6 to 18 inches of rain are expected, and the National Hurricane Center has warned citizens that all safety preparations should be done before Tuesday night. And with Isaac now charting west of Tampa Florida, it_s now full speed ahead at this week_s GOP convention. The storm forced organizers to cram 4 days worth of events into 3 days. Tuesday night_s schedule includes keynote speeches from New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and Ann Romney.The main goal of the convention will be to package GOP nominee Mitt Romney as a man who understands everyday Americans, and to frame him as the only candidate capable of fixing the US economy. Welcome to the newsroom everyoneNO) The sales numbers for Apple have exceeded everybodyis highest expectations. Their fiscal second-quarter revenue rose to 39-point-2 billion dollars n much higher than the projected 36-point-8 billion. Hardware was the driving force behind the high revenue numbers. During the quarter, they sold over 5 million more iPhones than estimated, 35-point-1 million in total. They also sold nearly 12-million iPads n which was helped by the release of the new version in March. Appleis stock prices have been decreasing over the past few weeks, but this news helped them jump over 5 percent. A case of Mad Cow disease has been confirmed in a California dairy cow. American officials say the risk to the public is extremely low, since the animal never entered the human food chain, and that consumers donit need to take precautions. But the news is still having an impact overseas. At least one South Korean retailer has removed American beef from their shelves. South Korea is one of the worldis largest importers of US beef, bringing in 125-thousand tons in 2010. Officials there say theyill step up inspections, but so far have stopped short of halting the imports.The first criminal charges have been laid in the Deepwater Horizon oil spill case. Kurt Mix n a former BP drilling engineer n is accused of destroying hundreds of text messages he had sent to a superior. The texts allegedly described the high volumes of oil flowing out of the ruptured well. During the disaster, it was discovered that the numbers BP was providing to the government were drastically lower than the actual volume. Of the people arrested, one was a German citizen and the other three were GermanIranian DUAL citizens. They_re accused of providing Iran with heavy water reactor valves in deals worth millions of dollars. The valves were funneled in through front companies n which violates the strict German trade embargos against Iran. It also breaches weapon control laws n as heavy water reactors can be used to produce weapons-grade plutonium. Vic?We should point out that, even despite this report, the sanctions against Iran appear to be working.True.
